CostPerClick · Last updated: April 2026
CostPerClick does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data stays on your device. Period.
Who we are
CostPerClick is a Chrome browser extension developed and published by CosmoLabs Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. Our website is cosmolabs.co.uk.
What data CostPerClick stores
CostPerClick stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local):
- Subscription details — service names, monthly costs, and website domains you manually enter
- Visit counts — how many times you visit each tracked domain, grouped by month
- Active time data — how long tracked tabs are in focus, if time tracking is enabled
- Settings — your chosen currency, notification preferences, and session cooldown duration
- Monthly history — archived visit and cost-per-use data from previous months
This data never leaves your browser. It is not transmitted to CosmoLabs, any third party, or any server.
What data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your browsing history
- We do not collect your personal information (name, email, address)
- We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry
- We do not use cookies
- We do not record which websites you visit beyond the domains you explicitly add as subscriptions
- We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties
External network connections
CostPerClick makes the following external network requests:
- Google Favicon API (
google.com/s2/favicons) — to display website icons next to your subscriptions. Only the domain name is sent. No personal data is transmitted.
- ExtensionPay.com — to manage Pro upgrade purchases and verify payment status. This connection is only made when you initiate a purchase or when the extension checks your payment status. ExtensionPay processes payments through Stripe. Your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and is never accessible to CosmoLabs.
No other external connections are made.
Permissions
CostPerClick requests the following Chrome permissions:
- storage — to save your subscription data and settings locally
- tabs — to detect when you visit a tracked subscription domain
- alarms — to schedule periodic tasks such as unused subscription notifications and monthly data archiving
- notifications — to alert you about unused subscriptions and upcoming renewals
- history — used once when a subscription is first added, to backfill visit counts from the past 30 days so the extension is immediately useful
- contextMenus — to add a "Track this site with CostPerClick" option when right-clicking any webpage
- webNavigation — to detect navigation in single-page applications (such as video streaming or email services) so visits are counted accurately without requiring a full page reload
Pro purchases
If you purchase CostPerClick Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe via ExtensionPay.com. CosmoLabs does not have access to your credit card details, bank information, or full payment credentials. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing: stripe.com/privacy.
Data deletion
You can delete all CostPerClick data at any time via the extension's Settings page → Danger Zone → "Reset everything". Alternatively, uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data automatically.
Children's privacy
CostPerClick is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of CostPerClick after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
