tatGuard is a Chrome browser extension developed and operated by CosmoLabs Ltd, a company registered in Scotland, United Kingdom (Company No. SC883326).
tatGuard is an automated consumer guidance tool that analyses publicly available data to provide risk indicators for online product listings. tatGuard does not authenticate products. tatGuard's assessments are algorithmically generated opinions based on publicly available information at the time of analysis, not statements of fact. tatGuard is not an authentication service, a product testing laboratory, or a regulatory body. No assessment should be treated as a definitive determination of a product's authenticity, safety, or quality.
By using tatGuard, you confirm that:
Golden Scans. On installation, tatGuard provides 10 lifetime golden scans at no charge. No account or payment is required. Golden scans do not reset and are consumed permanently.
Free Trial. After golden scans are exhausted, users may register with an email address to activate a 7-day free trial. The free trial provides 25 AI scans per day. No payment card is required for the trial. The trial begins at the moment of email verification and expires after 7 days regardless of usage.
Premium Subscription. After the free trial, continued access requires a paid subscription. Current pricing is £4.99/month or £39.99/year (equivalent to £3.33/month — 2 months free). Subscriptions provide 50 AI scans per day. Pricing may change with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.
Top-Up Packs. Users may purchase additional scans on a one-time basis. Top-up scans do not expire and are consumed after daily allowances are exhausted.
Refund Policy. Due to the digital nature of tatGuard and the immediate consumption of scans upon subscription, we are unable to offer refunds after 48 hours from the date of purchase or after 10 scans have been used under that subscription, whichever occurs first. To request a refund within this window, contact hello@cosmolabs.co.uk with your order details. This refund policy does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law. If we terminate a paid subscription without cause, we will provide a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the subscription period.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods outside the refund window above, unless required by applicable law.
Payments. All payments are processed by Stripe. CosmoLabs Ltd does not store payment card details. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
tatGuard is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CosmoLabs Ltd disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
tatGuard's assessments are generated using three data sources:
tatGuard does not have access to proprietary brand databases, authentication records, supply chain documentation, or any non-public information. Assessments reflect the balance of publicly available evidence at the time of analysis and may change as new information becomes available.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
tatGuard is an independent consumer tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any brand, retailer, e-commerce platform, or seller mentioned in its assessments. Brand names are used solely for the purpose of identifying products under review. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
tatGuard does not use brand logos in its analysis panels. The use of brand names in tatGuard's assessments constitutes nominative fair use for the purpose of consumer commentary and comparison.

You are responsible for your own purchasing decisions. tatGuard provides supplementary information to assist consumer decision-making but does not replace your own judgement, professional authentication services, or advice from qualified experts. You should independently verify any concerns raised by tatGuard before making purchasing decisions or public claims about product authenticity.
tatGuard uses third-party services including AI language models and web search APIs to generate assessments. By using tatGuard's analysis features, you acknowledge that product page data and review text may be transmitted to these third-party services for processing. tatGuard does not store, log, or retain any data transmitted to third-party APIs beyond the duration of a single analysis session.

If any brand, seller, or platform believes that a tatGuard assessment is inaccurate or unfairly prejudicial, they may contact hello@cosmolabs.co.uk with specific details of the alleged inaccuracy and supporting evidence. CosmoLabs Ltd will review such complaints in good faith and, where appropriate, adjust its methodology or add corrections. This does not constitute an admission that any prior assessment was inaccurate or defamatory.
We reserve the right to modify tatGuard or these Terms at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be communicated to Premium subscribers by email and displayed within the extension where reasonably practicable. Continued use of tatGuard after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may suspend or terminate the service at any time with reasonable notice. If we terminate a paid subscription without cause, we will provide a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the subscription period.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence and to benefit from the mandatory provisions of the laws of that country.
