These terms sit alongside Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which also applies to your use of LtdBooks. LtdBooks is made by CosmoLabs Ltd, registered in Scotland (company number SC883326). Contact: hello@cosmolabs.co.uk.

1. What LtdBooks is, and isn't

LtdBooks helps UK limited company directors keep records, send invoices and prepare information for their accountant. It is not an accountant, and nothing in it is financial, tax or legal advice. Tax figures, set-aside suggestions and deadline dates are estimates based on the information you enter and published rates. You, as a director, remain responsible for your company's records, filings and payments. Check anything important with your accountant.

2. Your records

Your records belong to you. They are stored on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud. You're responsible for keeping them accurate and backed up. You can export your records at any time, whether or not you subscribe.

3. Company details

You confirm that you are a director of, or authorised to act for, any company you set up in the app, and that the details you enter are correct.

4. Subscriptions

LtdBooks has a free version and a paid Pro subscription, sold through the App Store. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple account settings. Free trials or offers, where available, convert to a paid subscription at the end of the offer unless cancelled. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. If your subscription ends, you keep access to everything you've already recorded and can still export it; Pro-only features stop. Invoices created on the free version include a small "Created with LtdBooks" line.

5. Fair use

Pro includes AI receipt scanning for normal business use, up to 300 scans a month. The free version includes 5 AI scans a month. Manual entry is always unlimited. We may limit use that looks automated or abusive.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use LtdBooks for anything unlawful, to create false records, or to try to break, overload or copy the service.

7. Our responsibility

We work hard to keep LtdBooks accurate and available, but we can't promise it will be error-free or always available, and the services it relies on (such as Apple, Companies House, HMRC and Anthropic) are outside our control. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for penalties, interest or tax arising from information you entered or from not checking figures with an accountant, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; if a change is significant we'll tell you in the app. You can stop using LtdBooks at any time.

9. Law

These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
