Terms of use
The short version. Play for fun, play fair. Coins and Tokens are virtual and have no cash value. There is no gambling and no real prizes. Your progress lives on your phone. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.

Apple's terms also apply
You download the game from the App Store, so Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies alongside these terms. If they conflict, Apple's terms prevail on the points they cover.
Licence
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the game on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the game or its content, except where the law allows.
The game is fiction
Retro Tapper is a work of fiction set in an imaginary Scottish seaside town in 1993. The characters, venues and businesses are made up for fun, and real places and landmarks are used loosely and are not accurate depictions.
Coins, Tokens and purchases
- Coins and Tokens are virtual currencies used only inside the game. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred or refunded by us for money.
- Coins are earned by playing. Tokens can be earned in the game and can also be bought.
- Token packs and venue unlocks are bought through Apple, and Apple's payment terms apply. Refunds are handled by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Token packs are consumable. Spent Tokens cannot be restored.
- A venue unlock is a one-off purchase that opens a venue for good. It can be restored from Settings using Restore Purchases with the same Apple ID, including after you reset your progress. We cannot refund it for money.
- Venues can also be unlocked inside the game, so purchases are optional.
- In the UK you normally have 14 days to cancel a digital purchase. When you buy Tokens or any other digital item you ask for it to be delivered immediately and agree that you lose that right once delivery starts. This does not affect your statutory rights where the item is faulty or not as described.
No gambling and no real prizes
Retro Tapper has no gambling. The mini games, including coin pusher style games, only award coins, Tokens and items that exist inside the game. Nothing in the game can be cashed out or exchanged for money or real prizes.
Your progress
Your saved game is stored only on your device. If you delete the app, use Reset Progress, or lose the device without a backup, your progress is lost and we cannot recover it. Reset Progress starts the game again but keeps your Tokens, the venues you bought and your trophy.
Fair play
Please play as intended. Changing your device's clock to gain an advantage is ignored by the game. If we find that leaderboard entries were obtained unfairly, we may remove them.
Families
Retro Tapper is designed to be suitable for families. Purchases can be controlled with Apple's Ask to Buy and Screen Time. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before buying anything.
Notifications
Notifications are optional reminders created on your phone, for example when a venue's machines are ready or a daily reward is waiting. You can turn them off in the game settings or in iOS Settings.
Game Center
Game Center is optional and provided by Apple. Your use of it is subject to Apple's terms.
Changes and availability
We may update, change or withdraw the game or features of it, for example to fix problems or improve the game. We may also rebalance the game, including rewards, costs and cooldowns. We do not promise it will be available without interruption.
Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breach, or for lost progress caused by deleting the app or losing a device.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live in Scotland, the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring a claim in the courts of your home nation.
